Interior of a condo on Adelaide Street West in Toronto, with purple chairs, a white living room, and the skyline beyond the glass.

The ask

The clients wanted this condo on Adelaide Street West to use the height. The living room looks straight at the towers. The kitchen had to work in that same daylight. The bedroom needed a quieter colour, and the terrace had to feel like another room, not a ledge left bare.

The plan

We kept the living room white and gave it the colour in the chairs: purple, set against the glass. A pale sofa and a glass table hold the middle of the room. The kitchen stays dark at the cabinets, with a pale island and stools turned toward the view. The bedroom is white, with an iron bed and the city still in the window. The bathroom is white stone and glass. Outside, the terrace is furnished for sitting, with a hot tub in the open air.

The walk-through

You come into a white room and the skyline is already the far wall. The purple chairs are the note that keeps the white from going blank. The kitchen is a few steps on, dark cabinets and a pale island. The bedroom turns quieter without leaving the view. The terrace is the last room, planted and furnished so the day can continue outside. White upholstery and glass hold the condo together. Purple is the colour that makes it theirs.
