Vaughan HouseDressed for a long dinner, and still entirely a family house by morning.

Location: Vaughan, ON
Project: House interior
Where: Dining, kitchen, living, bedrooms, baths
Palette: White, dark wood, and marble

Interior of a Vaughan house, with white cabinetry, dark wood floors, and marble.

The ask

The clients wanted this house interior in Vaughan to be ready for a long dinner and still feel like a family lives there. The kitchen had to be the bright working room. Two bedrooms were given permission to carry a pattern the rest of the house would not.

The plan

Dark wood floors run under white walls. The dining room takes a dark table and a chandelier. The kitchen is white, with an island, marble at the backsplash, and brass at the faucet. The living room holds a fireplace in the same pale language. Two bedrooms are the exception, with pink bedding and a palm mural. The bathrooms return to marble, white vanities, and brass. A desk and a pale chair take a quieter corner, and the stair carries the dark floor between them.

The walk-through

You come into a dining room with a dark floor and a white ceiling. The kitchen opens beyond it, bright, with the island in the middle of the work. The fireplace is the evening end of that floor. Along the hall, two bedrooms with the palm mural are where the story changes. Marble and brass bring the baths back to the kitchen. The dark wood underfoot is what lets every white room belong to the same house.
